VTOL Aircraft
Our stingray is a very capable, tail sitter, VTOL aircraft that has a range of payloads and flight durations. Compared to a multirotor drone, this unit can cover a much larger area for mapping within a single flight. It is designed to vertically take off or hand launch, whichever you prefer.
With a larger than usual payload bay for its size, there are different options that we can install to suit your needs. The bottom window in the payload bay is perfect to mount your favorite camera for large area mapping.
The footprint that is needed once packed down is very small for amazing portability.
This aircraft sits within the excluded class (Below 2kg) of commercial operations and will be exempt from the new record keeping requirements set out in the Part 101 manual of standards coming into effect April 2020. Which means less paperwork and fewer compliance requirements for record keeping within Australian regulations. With less red tape to operate compared to other aircraft with an all up flying weight greater than 2Kg.
Our integrated remote & tablet gives you great flexibility to be in charge of your mission. With redundant antennas it not only controls the aircraft but sends telemetry data and video as well. With a range of up 10km you have plenty of flexibility with designing your flight plan to suit your needs. With it’s dust and waterproof design it goes with you anywhere. With a large integrated battery you get up to 24 hours of use with every charge. With its compact design it is the perfect companion to the Stingray VTOL aircraft.
Field training is included with the purchase (Free within Victoria, Australia) where we will give you confidence to head straight out to the field and start capturing data.
